WWE® SUPERSTARS AND DIVAS TAG TEAM WITH MAYOR WHITE AND HOUSTON PUBLIC LIBRARIES IN THE BATTLE FOR LITERACY
March 31, 2009 -- Mayor Bill White and Andrea White this week will join with executives, Superstars and Divas of World Wrestling Entertainment® for WrestleManiArt™, a unique art showing and auction in the historic Julia Ideson building benefiting the Houston Public Library Foundation. WrestleManiArt, scheduled to take place from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1, features the artwork created by a dozen WWE Superstars and Divas who have donated their pieces to the Library Foundation.

Mayor Bill and Andrea White will co-host the event with WWE Chief Executive Officer Linda McMahon and the WWE Superstars and Divas whose works will be on display and up for sale including; Jerry “the King” Lawler®, Mickie James™, Matt Hardy®, Jeff Hardy™, Beth Phoenix™, Kung Fu Naki™, Santino Marella™, Mr. Kennedy®, Eve™, Vickie Guerrero™, Hornswoggle®, The Miz™, John Morrison™, JTG™ Bella Twins™ and Tony Atlas™.

Tickets for the event, which includes a VIP reception with the artist Superstars and Divas, and hors d’ oeuvres from Capital Grille, are $50 for general admission and $150 for VIP tickets, which include complimentary parking. WrestleManiArt will be just the warm-up round in a weeklong series of activities occurring April 3-5 leading up to the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania® on Sunday at Reliant Stadium. The WrestleMania Reading Challenge will feature regional winners in grades 7-8 and 9-12 from across the country in the National Finals on Saturday, April 4, at the Central Library’s 4th Floor Program Place. More than 1,800 libraries nationwide participated in this year’s Challenge in which finalists will answer questions posed by the WWE Superstars and Divas. For more information see WWE.com.
