OLYMPIC MEDALIST AND HOUSTONIAN CHAD HEDRICK TO BE HONORED AT CITY HALL
Olympian to Receive Proclamation from Mayor Parker

WHO -- Mayor Annise Parker, Council Member Anne Clutterbuck, Olympic medalist Chad Hedrick

 

WHAT -- Houston Mayor Annise Parker will present an official proclamation to five-time Olympic medalist and Spring resident Chad Hedrick, who distinguished himself recently at the XXI Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, winning a bronze medal in the 1000m speed skating event and a silver medal in the Team Pursuit event.

 

The highly decorated athlete is a speed skater in both ice speed skating and inline speed skating, winning one gold, two silver and two bronze Olympic medals.  Hedrick has set six world records in his racing career.

 

WHEN -- 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2010

 

WHERE -- City Hall Council Chambers is located at 901 Bagby on the second floor.
