October 1, 2012 -- Mayor Annise Parker today announced that next month the City of Houston will be recognized as one of Houston’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For™ by the National Association of Business Resources (NABR). The award, which is administered nationally in five markets, identifies and honors organizations that display a commitment to excellence in their human resource practices and employee enrichment.
“I am very proud of this recognition. It means the work of our Human Resources employees, under the leadership of Omar Reid, is paying off,” said Mayor Parker.
Nominees participated in a rigorous process that included an extensive survey on various HR practices and metrics, as well as comparative analyses of the results of the Employee Satisfaction Survey. An independent research firm evaluated each company's entry based on key measures in various categories, including Compensation, Benefits and Employee Solutions; Employee Enrichment, Engagement and Retention; Employee Education and Development; Recruitment, Selection and Orientation; Employee Achievement and Recognition; Communication and Shared Vision; Diversity and Inclusion; Work-Life Balance; Community Initiatives and Strategic Company Performance.
