Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 10550 Valley Forge Drive

October 19, 2020 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 10550 Valley Forge Drive that occurred about 5:50 a.m. on October 11. 

The victim, Tony Benitez, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Brown and M. Condon reported:  

Mr. Benitez was driving through the apartment complex at the above address when he stopped and exited his vehicle.  He then got into a verbal altercation with an unknown male suspect.  Benitez was armed with a semi-automatic pistol, but it has not been determined at this time if he had the weapon in his hand during the altercation.  After a short argument, a shot was fired and Benitez was fatally struck. 

The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male, 25 to 30 years of age, with a thin build.
