The Houston Parks and Recreation Department provides 7 challenging golf courses for your enjoyment. From Memorial Park, widely considered the best municipal course in the state, to historically significant Hermann Park and Gus Wortham Park courses, to well-maintained, lower-priced courses such as Brock Park, Glenbrook, Sharpstown, and Melrose Park courses, there is something for every golfer.
The Houston Parks and Recreation Department manages and operates four of the city’s municipal courses: Memorial, Gus Wortham, Brock, and Sharpstown. Three are managed by private companies for the city: Hermann, Glenbrook, and Melrose. For tee times at the courses operated by H.P.A.R.D., please visit the online reservation system. Memorial, Hermann and Gus Wortham are all located inside the loop. Sharpstown, one of Houston’s most popular and most walkable courses, can be reached from Bellaire Boulevard on the Southwest side. Brock offers opportunities to Northeast golfers, while Glenbrook provides a venue in the Southeast area of the City. Melrose, in North Houston, offers a chance to practice short-game skills with its 18 par -3 holes. All courses except Glenbrook have driving ranges. All have practice putting and chipping greens. Pro shops are available at all courses. Dining facilities are available at all courses except Melrose. All courses are non-metal spike facilities.
Weekday fees apply Monday through Thursday. Weekend fees apply Friday through Sunday and all City Holidays. Junior (18 and under) and Senior (65 and over) rates are offered on weekdays only. Twilight start times vary by season. Please call the course for specific times.

Lessons from qualified instructors are available at all courses. Tournament and corporate outings may be scheduled by calling any of the courses. Prices are subject to change without notice. Extra fee applies for use of electric golf car.
The First Tee of Houston
The First Tee of Houston is a youth development program that teaches life skills and core values through the game of golf. Using the First Tee Nine Core Values and Nine Healthy Habits, participants learn how to navigate successfully through the course and through life. The program is managed and operated in collaboration with the Greater Houston First Tee, the Houston Golfing Association, and the Houston Parks and Recreation Department.
The junior golf facility is located at F.M. Law Park, 8400 Mykawa Road 77048. Youth ages 7 – 18 years enjoy the nine-hole course, 80-station lighted driving range, practice putting and chipping areas, an outdoor pavilion, and indoor classroom. The facility is open Tuesday through Saturday, mornings and evenings.
