“MUSIC RE-BUILDS TOUR” COMES TO HOUSTON BENEFITTING THE GULF COAST IKE RELIEF FUND Mayor Bill White Offers a Message of Hope As Music Ignites Healing in the Gulf Coast Region
October 2, 2008 -- Today, thousands of people in the Gulf Coast region are rebuilding their lives, and many are still without power, resulting from the devastation left by Hurricane Ike. KSBJ Special Events is proud to announce the “Music Re-Builds Tour benefitting the Gulf Coast Ike Relief Fund,” a concert event that will raise necessary funds to ignite healing for our region. The concert will feature Christian bands Third Day, Switchfoot and Robert Randolph & the Family Band on Friday, October 3rd at 6:20 p.m. CST at the Berry Center.
"We are very grateful for the efforts of KSBJ Special Events and for the support of Red Light Management and bands of the 'Music Re-Builds Tour'," says Mayor Bill White. "Rebuilding the Gulf Coast region depends on the financial stability of the established non-profit organizations that provide immediate and long-term relief to our communities. All of the funds generated through this event will provide a solid platform for localized recovery from this devastating storm."
Concert goers will enjoy a hopeful message from Mayor Bill White and his wife, Andrea White, along with an evening of live Contemporary Christian music, testimonies from relief organizations and messages from Houston celebrities. Those not attending the sold out concert can view the televised broadcast on HTV Houston and HCCTV (check your local listing) and via live web stream available by visiting www.ksbj.org. And for those of you still without power, KSBJ will be broadcasting live on 89.3 KSBJ.
