City and Community Partners Announce Workshops on
Landlord and Tenant Rights and Responsibilities

Tenants and Landlords: Know Your Rights and Responsibilities
Free Workshops October 9 and 11
The Department of Neighborhoods Mayor’s Citizens' Assistance Office announces two free workshops exploring the rights and responsibilities of tenants and landlords sponsored in partnership with the Office of State Representative Gene Wu and the Gulfton Super Neighborhood Council.
Entitled “Stronger Apartment Communities for Residents and Owners--Understand Your Rights and Responsibilities,” the workshops are scheduled as follows:
Thursday, October 9, 6 to 8 p.m.
Baker Ripley Neighborhood Centers

Saturday, October 11, 10 a.m. to 12 noon
Southwest Multi-Service Center
6400 High Star Drive 77074
Workshop participants will hear from experts about lease requirements, owner responsibilities, requesting repairs, code violations and how to access legal services. Invited speakers include representatives of the Houston Apartment Association, Lone Star Legal Aid, Greater Houston Fair Housing and the City’s Housing and Community Development Department Fair Housing Division.
