Department of Neighborhoods Announces "Pet-A-Palooza" Drive
Pet Donations Needed
April 10, 2015 -- The Department of Neighborhoods Volunteer Initiatives Program and Mayor's Anti-Gang Office invite the community to take part in Pet-a-Palooza, a pet food drive sponsored by Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston (IMGH) scheduled for Saturday, April 11, 2015, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3202 San Jacinto Street 77004.
The public is invited to drop off donations of nonperishable dog and cat food as well as empty water bottles with caps. The water bottles will be used by volunteers to make pet toys. The donations will benefit the pets of home-bound senior citizens.
Pet-a-Palooza is a community service project organized in conjunction with National Volunteer Week and Compassion Week, which will be officially observed April 12 -18. Assisting with the project are youth volunteers with the Mayor's Youth Council, United Minds and IMGH iLead.
