Workshop to Focus on How to Help People Transition from "Disability to Productivity"
Workshop for Professionals Who Serve People With Disabilities Will Explore Employment Services Available to Their Clients During and After Rehabilitation
February 25, 2016 -- The City of Houston Department of Neighborhoods invites social service providers, occupational and physical therapists, employment counselors and other professionals who serve the disability community to take part in a workshop entitled "From Disability to Productivity," scheduled for March 9, 2016, 9 a.m. to 12 noon, at the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center, 1475 West Gray. The workshop will focus on the Social Security Administration's Ticket to Work Program and other services available to people with disabilities during and after the rehabilitation process. The discussion will address questions and concerns that people often have as they transition from rehabilitation to employment. The workshop is sponsored by the Department of Neighborhoods Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities in partnership with Beacon Communications, Pacific Western and Workforce Solutions.
