"All Things Taxes" is first of three-Part Financial Empowerment Series for
People with disabilities
March 24, 2014 -- The Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities and Neighborhoods Centers Inc. will present a Financial Empowerment Series this tax season, sponsored in partnership with Neighborhood Centers Inc.
"All Things Taxes" is the first in the series of workshops, scheduled for Wednesday, March 26, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Metropolitan Multi-Service Center (MMSC), 1475 W. Gray 77019. Three workshop sessions will be offered, as follows:
- 9 to 11:30 a.m. - Session One: Why & How You Should File Tax Returns
- 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. - Session Two: Identity Theft & Fraud Prevention
- 3 to 4:30 p.m. - Session Three: Earned Income Credits: What Are They? How Can They Assist?

April & May Workshops
The second session in the series will focus on "Banking GPS," scheduled for April 23, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The final session will explore the topic, "Financial Challenges Have Options," May 21, 10 to 11:30 a.m., with a repeat workshop at 6:30 to 8 p.m. All workshops will be held at MMSC.
