Filing of Application for Place on Ballot at Mayor's Office, 3rd Floor of City Hall, 901 Bagby Street. Filing hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday, excluding Labor Day, which is Monday, September 4, 2007.
Filing fees for Mayor are $1250, for City Controller are $750 and for City Council Member are $500. All filing fees MUST be paid in cash or by certified or cashier's check made payable to "City of Houston". A petition in lieu of a filing fee is available via the petition form below.
