One Stop Business Center 's most recent five programs at the Vinson, Smith, Oak Forest , Alief, and Frank branch libraries (HPL) hosted nearly 175 people! The huge turnout at both Oak Forest and Frank libraries was due in part to One Stop's outreach on CitizensNet as well as Oak Forest 's and Frank's staffs doing a great job with promotional efforts.
A special THANK YOU to SCORE counselors Oliver Mann, Beth Shapiro, Rick Leslie, Allen Shapiro, and Richard Stanley for presenting the SCORE portion of the seminars. Thanks also to the IRS (Janet Bradford) for offering a look at IRS programs.
We'd also like to acknowledge Mr. Robert S. Hinds, a long time mentor and counselor to Houston 's small businesses. Until a few months ago Mr. Hinds was the SCORE counselor assigned to ONE STOP, and he assisted hundreds of small businesses in their efforts to succeed. Due to illness Mr. Hinds was forced to the sidelines, but his tradition of selfless devotion to small businesses remains evident in our SCORE counseling program. Get well, Mr. Hinds!!
