DERRICK WILLIAMS JOINS CITY OF HOUSTON PARKING MANAGEMENT DIVISION
April 5, 2007 -- Derrick Williams has joined the City of Houston Parking Management staff as parking enforcement manager.
In his new role, Williams will oversee and manage parking enforcement operations, including the direction of a nearly 35-member enforcement team regulating more than 5,800 metered spaces throughout the City of Houston.
A UCLA graduate, Williams worked for the City of Los Angeles for more than 11 years at the Bureau of Parking Enforcement and Traffic Control. As senior traffic supervisor, he managed the City’s team of parking traffic officers as well as numerous office staff. Additionally, Williams served as the Bureau’s liaison to the Mayor’s Office, City Council and Police Department.
“Derrick brings a wealth of experience in parking enforcement to our team,” said Liliana Rambo, assistant director for the Parking Management division. “His familiarity with enforcement issues and direction for the enforcement team will help us to better-serve our customers and reinforce the division’s continued commitment to customer service. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”
Williams resides in Northwest Houston with his wife and two children.
Parking Management is a division of the City of Houston General Services Department. By servicing and maintaining almost 6,000 on-street parking spaces and numerous garages across the Greater Houston area, Parking Management creates sound regulations for all commercial and residential areas enhancing pedestrian safety, ensuring a smooth flow of traffic and allowing emergency vehicles to reach their destinations.
