Pay A Fine | Contest A Citation
PAY A FINE
If you have received a citation, you have 45 calendar days from citation issue date to pay the fine. If a parking fine is not paid within 45 calendar days, a delinquent fine is assessed. If a fine is not paid within 105 calendar days, an additional 30 percent assessment fee is added.
Parking violations may be paid several ways:

Mail
Please mail the amount due by check or money order , payable to the City of Houston, along with your ticket. Write the citation number on your check or money order. Please do not send cash.
If you would like a receipt, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope. Mail to:

Payments are considered late if postmarked after 45 days of issue date. If payment is sent late, the higher fine is due. Please click here for the violation code fine schedule.

Please call 3-1-1 or 713.837.0311 to pay a fine by phone. Have your citation number or license plate number ready. The operator will accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

CONTEST A CITATION
To contest a citation, you or your attorney must appear in person within 45 calendar days of citation issuance at the Parking Adjudication office, 1400 Lubbock.
If the 45th day falls on a weekend or city holiday, please appear the following working day.
Hearings are held on a first-come, first-served basis, and should take no longer than 30 minutes.
You may bring photos or other evidence to the hearing.

If dissatisfied with the hearing officer's decision, appeal by filing a petition within 30 days of the hearing officer's order. The petition must be filed with the Parking Management cashier at the Municipal Court, 1400 Lubbock.
A $10 administrative fee for the first parking citation, and $5 for subsequent citations, will apply. If the appeal is successful, these fees are refunded.
