The Facilities Management and Development Division is responsible for the planning, acquisition, and design of all park facilities, and oversees their construction, maintenance, and repair. The division's 115 employees represent a wide range of skills and professions, including landscape architects, planners, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, painters, concrete finishers, and heavy equipment operators. Using their combined talents, division workers coordinate the Capital Improvement construction and renovation program. They maintain amenities at all HPARD parks, including ball fields, security lights, tennis and basketball courts, playground equipment, hike and bike trails, and parking lots. The division's Safe Equipment Teams keep our 268 playgrounds safe and in good repair. Despite a heavy workload, the division also maintains a 72-hour response time for graffiti abatement and supports recreation programs, special events, citizen requests, and facility needs.
