Skatepark Tips

  1. Know your limits. The skatepark has terrain suitable for beginners and experts. Be aware of the different types of terrain and of your own capabilities to maneuver on them.
  2. Check your equipment regularly. Understanding when your skateboard, skates, or protective gear need repair or replacing will help prevent the unexpected.
  3. Always maintain your space and speed. Prevent unnecessary collisions with fellow riders by making sure you have enough space between you and them to slow down or change direction.
  4. Be considerate of others. Since the skatepark accommodates beginners through expert riders and spectators, please make sure and be respectful of all patrons.
  5. Keep the skatepark litter free. Dispose of your trash in the proper receptacle before exiting the skatepark.
  6. Do not leave your items unattended. Keep your skateboard, protective gear, bags, etc. in sight at all times.
  7. Move to the spectator area when not skating. Even though you may be taking a break from riding a specific part of the skatepark and decide to rest next to it, others may be interested in riding there.
  8. Check the Fonde Recreation Center bulletin board, HPARD website, and PUSH website for upcoming events.
