The
Burglary and Theft Divison investigates crimes against
property, e.g. burglary of a residence, theft, criminal
mischief, etc. The division also handles forgeries,
monitors all pawn shop transactions, and alarm permits.
Administrative
Section The
Administrative Section of the Burglary and Theft Division
handles all inquiries into a particular case, answers
questions for patrol officers and accepts holds on
persons arrested for a Burglary and Theft related
incidents.
Alarm
Detail
The Alarm
Detail is responsible that the residents and businesses
of the City of Houston maintain permits for all types of
alarm systems. Additional, this unit issues citations for
violations of alarm ordinance.
Financial Crimes Unit
The
Forgery Detail investigates the illegal use of another
person's checks, credit cards, and/or the altering of
official documents.
Investigative
Squads
These
squads investigate crimes reported, conduct criminal
background investigations, file the appropriate charge
and execute arrest warrants. Investigators routinely file
charges and attend court as part of their primary duties.
Operations
Section
The Operations Section handles purchases
are made and/or authorized, monthly
statistics are monitored, the
divisional inventory is maintained and attendance
and overtime are recorded and forwarded to the
Office of Budget and Finance. The Operations
Section is an integral part of this division.
