Synopsis:
In the early morning hours of July 4, 1987, there was a birthday party being held at a house located in the 300 block of North Burr, located in Houston’s near east side. The party was uneventful for several hours, but then, around 1:00 AM, a fight erupted. Other people who were at the party joined in the fighting. One of the people that got involved in this fight was our complainant, Michael Vasquez. Michael Vasquez was ninteen years old. During the course of this fight, Michael Vasquez was stabbed and died at the scene. Most of the people that were involved in the fight, or were witnesses, then fled. Few witnesses were present when the police arrived.
The initial information available
There was a large group of acquaintances of Michael Vasquez that were at this party. Over this past year, many of them were located and interviewed. It is hoped that someone that was at the party that has knowledge of who comitted this act will contact the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division Cold Case Unit and share what they know with us.
