Case #: 97175597
Victim:Demetrious “Dimi” Scott
 - White, Male, Age 7
Location: 6100 Muskingum
Date: July 29, 1997

Synopsis:

WindowOn Tuesday, July 29, 1997, the Scott family was at home watching television together in the living room. Just before midnight several shots were fired through the front living room window and a bedroom window. The family members scrambled to the floor. After the shooting was over, it was learned that seven year old Demetrious “Dimi” Scott was shot in the chest. He was transported to Ben Taub Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. An intense effort was made by the original investigators to identify and locate the killer. Unfortunately, no suspect was ever identified. According to a witness, a 1970’s to 1980’s American made car with a long hood and trunk, possibly with 4 doors, gray in color with a dark primer on a passenger side door, vertical tail lights and a deep engine noise was seen leaving the area immediately after Dimi was shot. The investigation found that the shooting may have been gang related. Although several leads were presented and investigated, none of them helped to solve this case.
