The Houston Police Department museum is located in the lobby of HPD headquarters at 1200 Travis, and features unique displays and a memorial wall honoring the ultimate sacrifice made by those officers that gave their lives in the line of duty.

Included among the displays are artifacts from the Honor Guard, SWAT, Mounted Patrol, badges, uniforms and other equipment utilized over the years. There is no charge for the Museum.

Hours: Monday - Friday 9AM-9PM

Groups of 10 or more require reservations.

Q -           When is the museum open?

A -           Monday – Friday, 9AM-9PM. We are closed on the weekends.

Q -           What is the cost?

A -           The museum is free of charge.

Q -           What types of tours do you offer?

A-            We provide guided tours of the museum for groups of ten (10) or more. These group tours must be scheduled in advance. However, the self guided tours for groups of nine (9) or less do not require a reservation.

Q -           When are tours conducted?

A -           Group tours are conducted by appointment and may be scheduled Monday - Friday at 10AM, 10:30AM or 1PM. However, smaller tours are self-guided and may be conducted anytime the museum is open.

Q -           How long are the guided tours?

A -           Between 1 hour and 1.5 hours

Q -           Do you provide individual tours?

A -           Individuals and groups of less than ten may tour the museum on their own pace. Also, there is no need to make a reservation for the self guided tours. Please remember museum hours are 9AM-9PM, Monday-Friday.

Q -           What do we see on the tour?

A -           We will see the HPD museum and the Wall of Honor memorial for fallen Houston police officers.

Q -           Do you have a restaurant that we may eat at, while at your facility?

A -           We do not have a restaurant. However, there are many restaurants within a short walking/driving distance. Another option is to pack a lunch and picnic at nearby Discovery Green.

Q -           Do you accept donations?

A -           The museum accepts donations via the Houston Police Foundation box. The foundation has a donation box in the shop area.
