Traffic Incident on Harwin at West Sam Houston Parkway

April 28, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident on Harwin at the West Sam Houston Parkway service road about 2:20 a.m. today (Apr. 28).

The identity of the deceased male is pending notification of family members.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D.S. Runyan and Officer T.D. Houston reported:

A late model Ford pickup truck was southbound on the service road of the West Sam Houston Parkway when it collided with a late model Jeep Cherokee that was eastbound on Harwin. An outside witness stated the driver of the Jeep Cherokee ran the red light. One of three men inside the pickup truck was killed. The other two males suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Jeep was taken to an area hospital to submit to a mandatory blood test.

The investigation is continuing.
