Incident at 9555 Crofton #1087

April 30, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the death of a man at 9555 Crofton #1087 on Friday, April 29, at about 8 p.m.

The victim is identified as Marcus Trennell Jones, 23, of 11902 Greens Park Lane. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. T. Parker and Officer I. F. Flores reported:

The victim was found on the floor in a bedroom of apartment #1087 and had suffered a single gunshot wound to the head. A gun believed to be the weapon used in this incident was found next to the victim's body.

The investigation is continuing.
