Traffic Incident at 15700 John F. Kennedy Blvd

August 27, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 15700 John F. Kennedy Blvd. about 9 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 26).

The identity of the female victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D.S. Runyan and Officer D.J. Gutierrez reported:

The victim, driving a small, late model sports utility vehicle, disregarded the stop sign at World Houston Parkway and John F. Kennedy Blvd. The driver of an 18-wheeler, who had the right-of-way, was unable to stop in time and struck the S.U.V., killing the victim instantly. The driver of the 18-wheeler was transported to Houston Northwest Medical Center in an undetermined condition.

The investigation is continuing.
