Incident at 2111 Antoine

December 10, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the death of a woman found at 2111 Antoine about 1:45 p.m. on Friday (Dec. 9).

The victim has been identified as Melinda M. Superville, 43, of 2065 Harland Drive. The cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant E.S. Mehl and Officer M.F. Waters II reported:

Ms. Superville was found inside an abandoned house with no apparent signs of trauma to her body. Evidence from the scene indicated that she had consumed a large quantity of unknown pills. A handgun was found near her body, however, there was no evidence that it had been fired. Ms. Superville had been reported missing on December 2.

The investigation is continuing.
