Incident at 12100 Gulf Freeway

December 30, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 12100 Gulf Freeway about 12:15 a.m. on Friday, December 30, 2005.

The victim has been identified as Alex P. Morales Jr., 22, of 10909 Gulf Freeway #1101. He suffered two gunshot wounds to the head and was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. W. McStravick and Officer B. D. Evans reported:

Mr. Morales, driving a Chevrolet truck, was traveling in the 12100 block of the Gulf Freeway service road when an unknown suspect, also driving a Chevrolet truck, was seen chasing the vehicle and shooting at the victim. After the shooting, Mr. Morales crashed his vehicle and came to a stop. The suspect fled the scene in a beige or gold colored Chevrolet truck with an extended cab. It is unknown at this time what caused this shooting.
