Update on Incident at 9200 Town Park

February 11, 2005 -- A suspect has been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of a juvenile at 9200 Town Park about 7:15 p.m. on January 26.

Elias Corral (H/m, DOB 7-4-87) is charged with murder in the 339th State District Court. He is charged in the killing of Johnathan Lozano, 12, of 8721 Town Park #1191. Lozano suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. B. Douglas and Officer D. R. Shorten reported:

Lozano was sitting with four friends in the 9200 block of Town Park. A vehicle drove past Lozano and his friends and a passenger in the vehicle yelled out an obscenity to them. A few minutes later, the same vehicle returned and the front passenger shot several times, striking Lozano. His friends carried him a short distance and then laid him down in the parking lot at 5909 Ranchester. Paramedics responded and pronounced Lozano dead at the scene.

Suspect Corral was located in the Harris County Jail where he was interviewed and confessed to the murder.
