Traffic Incident at 8700 Mesa

June 7, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 8700 Mesa about 11:55 p.m. on Monday (June 6).

The victim, Lennie Douglas, age unknown, was transported to LBJ Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant S. Sorge and Officers J. Tippy and R. Brieding reported:

A 1992 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Ms. Douglas was attempting to enter traffic from a gas station parking lot when it was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling north on Mesa. A passenger in the Cavalier sustained a broken leg and the truck driver received minor injuries. Both were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital.

The investigation is continuing.
