Incident at 8700 Pattibob

June 11, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man and wounding of two women at 8700 Pattibob about 11:05 p.m. Friday (June 10).

The deceased victim is identified as Anthony Craig Howard, 24, of 8715 Fannette. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Victims Stephanie Howard, 22, and Viola Howard, 19, of 8723 Fannette, each sustained a gunshot wound to their left leg. Both were transported to LBJ Hospital where they were treated and released.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants L. A. Flores and M. W. McStravick reported:

The victims were all standing next to a vehicle on the street at 8700 Pattibob when unknown suspect(s) in a 1995-1999 green four door Cadillac sedan approached and began firing on the group. The suspect(s) then fled.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 9500 Homestead Road

June 29, 2020 - The fatal shooting of a man at 9500 Homestead Road about 1:45 p.m. on Sunday (June 28) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.  

The identity of the deceased male, 23, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

The male shooter was not injured.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives N. Sharp and K. Fregia reported:  

The victim was traveling southbound near the above address when a vehicle apparently cut him off in the roadway.  According to witnesses, the victim exited his vehicle at the intersection of Homestead and Tidwell Road and confronted the person in the other vehicle. 

The victim reached into his vehicle and retrieved a firearm.  At that time, the driver of the other vehicle feared for his life and shot the victim.  He then called 9-1-1 and alerted a responding HPD patrol officer to the incident.

Detectives questioned the shooter and advised the incident would be referred to a grand jury.
