Incident at 17435 Imperial Valley

March 7, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating injuries sustained by a child at 17435 Imperial Valley on Sunday, March 6, 2005, about 10 p.m.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C. Grysen and Officer F. Mares reported:

Houston police and HFD responded to a residence where a five-month-old boy was
found not breathing. Paramedics performed CPR on the baby and the boy was eventually transported by Life-Flight helicopter to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Medical personnel at the hospital determined the baby had a skull fracture and was in critical condition.

The cause of injury to the baby is under investigation.
