Incident at 706 Neyland

May 14, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 706 Neyland about 4 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2005.

The victim is identified as Jeffery Washington, 39, of 706 Neyland. The cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant L. Baimbridge and Officer N. Ruland reported:

A witness observed Mr. Washington sitting in the backyard of his (the victim's) residence earlier in the morning. Later that afternoon, the witness returned and found Washington lying on the ground. He appeared to have fallen out of his chair. Paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead. There were no signs of trauma to the body.

The investigation is continuing.
