Incident at 10910 Gulf Freeway

November 28, 2005 -- A wanted suspect has been identified and charged in the fatal shooting of a man at 10910 Gulf Freeway about 10:15 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 26).

The suspect, Charles Anthony Colbert (b/m, DOB 10-5-84), is not in custody. He has been charged with murder in the 177th State District Court and is wanted in the killing of Carl Kelley, 19, of 10927 Canarywood. Colbert is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds and was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants.

HPD Homicide Division Officers I.F. Flores and R.W. Chappell reported:

Officers learned the victim had been in an argument with the suspect when the suspect pulled a gun and shot the victim in the head. The suspect fled and the victim was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital.
