Traffic Incident at 7800 Wedgewood

September 11, 2005 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal accident at 7800 Wedgewood on September 10, 2005 about 2:45 p.m.

The victim has been identified as Paveez Ahmed, 59.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant R.A. Gonzales and Officers D. Ertons and R. Pedraza reported:

According to the witness, the suspect was driving erratically going southbound on Wirt Road. The suspect, possibly under the influence of alcohol, struck the outside curb and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle swerved into the northbound lanes striking Ahmed's vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene with a fatal injury to the head.

The case will be presented to the Harris County District Attorney's office for possible charges.
