Incident at 3500 Dabney

April 4, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 3500 Dabney about 9:45 a.m. on March 17.

The victim is identified as Danny Terrel Kirkland, 38. The cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Homicide Division Officers C.P. Abbondandolo and T.W. Miller reported:

City of Houston public works employees discovered Mr. Kirkland's decomposing body lying in a ditch while cleaning along the roadway. The area where the body was found was littered with garbage and refuge and is commonly used as an unauthorized dumping ground.
