HPD and HISD Release Composite Sketch of School Bus Shooter

April 20, 2006 -- Investigators with the Houston Police Department Homicide Division and Houston Independent School District Police Department and asking for the public's help in identifying and locating the person or persons responsible for a shooting at an HISD school bus on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 about 4:51 p.m.

Two eleven-year old female students from Johnston Middle School were slightly injured from shards of glass after the bullet ripped through the bus window as it traveled along the 9900 block of Ashville. The HISD bus driver contacted the transportation dispatcher and drove the bus to Woodson Middle School at Southview and South Acres. Both students were treated for minor injuries and released to their parents at the scene. The students told investigators that they heard a loud pop noise and saw the hole in the window and the glass broken out.

The suspect is described as a black male with a very dark complexion, average build, very tall (6'3 or taller) and in his late teens or early 20's. A composite sketch of the suspect is attached to this news release.
