Incident at 13432 Hempstead Road #116

August 25, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the death of a man found at 13432 Hempstead Road #116 about 11:30 a.m. on Thursday (August 24).

The victim, identified as David Eugene Darnell, 48, of 1325 Cedar Post Lane #13, suffered blunt trauma to the head and face and died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers P.J. Guerrero and J. Selvera reported:

Officers were called to the National Motel after housekeeping personnel found the victim's body inside his room at check-out time. He appeared to have suffered blunt trauma to the head and face. Mr. Darnell had checked into the motel the day before. His truck is missing.
