Update on Incident at 3035 Shady Park

August 30, 2006 -- The suspect wanted in the killing of 75-year-old Dorothy Saunders, found in her home at 3035 Shady Park on Sunday, August 27, 2006 at about 12:41 p.m. has been arrested and charged with capital murder.

Ms. Saunders grandson, Sean Thomas Saunders (wm/ DOB 6-22-85) was arrested in
Daytona Beach, Florida, driving her stolen tan 2004 Toyota Corolla, Texas plates T35VTL on Monday, August 28, 2006. Sean was interviewed by investigators and admitted to killing his grandmother and stealing her car. Capital murder charges have been filed in the 209th State District Court. The Harris County Sheriff's Department will handle the details of transporting Saunders back to Houston.

Details of the incident are as follows:
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant C.E. Elliott and Officer FT. Hernandez reported that responding HPD officers found the body of Dorothy Saunders lying on the living room floor of her residence dead from multiple gunshots to the head.
