Incident at 14300 Northwest Freeway

August 30, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 14300 block of the Northwest Freeway service road about 4:30 a.m. today (August 30).

The identity of the deceased male victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant D.S. Runyan and Officer J.A. Vega reported:

The victim was driving a bobtail truck west in the 14300 block of the Northwest Freeway (Highway 290) service road when he drove off the road and struck a tree. The driver died instantly. It appeared he may have suffered a heart attack or stroke prior to the accident.
