Update on Incident at 7219 Kings Gate Circle

December 3, 2006 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a man at 7219 Kings Gate Circle on November 28, 2006.

The suspect, Pedro Leon Shepherd (b/m, DOB 04-04-80), is charged with murder in the 174th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Lanathan Johnson, 23, who died of multiple gunshot wounds.

and J. Selvera reported:

HPD officers responded to a shooting call at 7219 Kings Gate Circle after witnesses reported hearing about ten gunshots in the area. Mr. Johnson was seen running and collapsing in a breezeway of the apartment complex. A preliminary investigation has revealed this shooting was committed during a drug-related robbery.

Subsequent investigation led homicide officers to Shepherd, who is considered armed and dangerous.
