Update on Incident at 9445 Concourse

February 17, 2006 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 9445 Concourse about 2:45 a.m. on Thursday (February 16).

The suspect, Terrance Jones (b/m D.O.B., 5/19/85), is charged with capital murder in the 185th State District Court.

The victim has been identified as Clarence Cheatham, 18, of an unknown address.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant L. Flores and Officer T.R. Cunningham reported:

HPD officers were called to the scene to investigate a discharging firearms call. Upon arrival, they discovered Cheatham shot to death in the courtyard of the apartment complex. The suspect was arrested by a security guard at the apartment complex. Investigators said robbery was the motive for the shooting.
