Incident at 9500 Fannin

February 24, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found in the 9500 block of Fannin about 12:15 a.m. today (Feb. 24).

The unidentified male victim appears to be 25 to 30 years old. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. McStravick and Officer I.F. Flores Jr. reported:

Patrol officers were called to the scene of a man down and found the male victim lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his head. Investigators arrived and determined the victim had been shot, beaten and run over by an unknown vehicle. They also noticed the victim had defensive wounds to his hands.
