Incident at 7700 Lyons

January 21, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 7700 Lyons Avenue about 2 a.m. today (Jan. 21).

The victim is identified as Martin Jaime Burciaga Jr., 23. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers B. Evans and I.F. Flores Jr. reported:

Houston police officers working off-duty employment at a local sports bar heard gunfire coming from the rear of the business. Officers responded and discovered Mr. Burciaga lying on the roadway near a green Buick Park Avenue riddled with bullets. According to witnesses, two groups of Hispanic males got into a confrontation when an unknown suspect (s) fired at the victim who was inside of his vehicle.

The suspects are only described as four Hispanic males who fled in a black sports car.
