Update on Incident at 15240 Galveston Road

July 12, 2006 -- Houston police juvenile sex crimes investigators have released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in the kidnapping and sexual assault of a juvenile female at 15240 Galveston Road about 9:55 p.m. on July 5.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with white hair, in his mid 50s to early 60s with a medium build, wearing a tan button-down shirt, dark pants, and a baseball cap. The suspect was driving a dark colored extended cab pickup truck.

The victim told investigators she was driven to an unknown building where the suspect sexually assaulted her.

HPD Officer H. Ruiz of the Juvenile Division Sex Crimes Unit and Homicide Division Officers K. Carr and A. Mares reported:

The victim went to a grocery store with her mother about 8:30 p.m. and returned home about 8:50 p.m. After having been home for about 30 minutes, the suspect knocked at the door stating he was from the grocery store they had just shopped at. When the suspect told the victim's mother that her daughter had stolen some candy from the store, the victim's mother said she was going to call the store to verify the suspect's information. The mother then went to get a pen and upon returning to the front door, she noticed the suspect and her daughter were gone. The mother called police to report the incident. At about 2:10 a.m. on July 6, the female victim was found by a Pasadena police officer at a convenience store near the East Sam Houston Parkway South and Red Bluff, where the suspect had dropped her off. The girl was then transported to Texas Children's Hospital for an exam.

Anyone with information on the suspect in this case is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
