Incident at 4600 Tidwell

July 23, 2006 -- Houston Police homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a male at 4600 Tidwell on July 23, 2006.

Homicide investigators M. McStravick and R. Carstens report:

On July 23, 2006, at approximately 2:15 a.m., the victim, Joseph Broussard (b/m 11-13-1979) and a friend, whose identity is being withheld at this time, were traveling westbound in the 4600 block of Tidwell when a mini-van pulled along side Broussard's vehicle. For unknown reasons, the occupants of the mini-van began firing gunshots into Broussard's vehicle. Broussard sustained multiple gunshot wounds and died at the scene. Broussard's companion was also shot, however, his injuries were not fatal and he was treated at a local hospital.

The suspect(s), (number, age, sex, race, physical description all unknown), fled the scene in a light green, 1998-1999 Chrysler Mini-van. The vehicle had dark tinted windows and gold colored wheels.
