Incident at 10001 Club Creek

July 23, 2006 -- Houston Police homicide detectives are investigating the shooting death of a male robbery victim at 10001 Club Creek on July 22, 2006.

Homicide investigators M. Khan and R. Olivo report:

On July 22, 2006, at approximately 9:25 p.m., the victim, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of family members, was sitting with his son and a roommate on the tailgate of his truck in the parking lot of the Deerfield Apartments. A suspect approached the three men, brandished a handgun, and demanded money. The victim's son and roommate complied with the demands of the gunman and handed over an undetermined amount of cash. The victim, when ordered to hand over his cash, reached for the suspect's gun. The suspect then shot the victim one time in the head. The victim died at the scene.

The suspect, described as a black male, approximately 30 years of age, 5' 10' tall and 150 pounds, wearing a black T-shirt, black baggy shorts, and a black baseball cap, fled on foot through the complex.
