Incident at 2309 Chapman Street

July 26, 2006 -- The fatal shooting of a man at 2309 Chapman Street about 11:35 p.m. on Monday (July 24) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The suspect is identified as Felix Castillo (h/m D.O.B. 5/24/84).

The victim is identified as the suspect's brother, Eric Alexander Castillo, 17, of 2309 Chapman Street. He suffered a gunshot wound to the face and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers M.J. Miller and T.W. Miller reported:

Felix Castillo arrived at his residence after picking up his younger brother, Eric Castillo, from work. Eric was in Felix's room talking on his cell phone when Felix pulled a 12-gauge shotgun from underneath his bed and pointed it at the cell phone. While pointing it at the cell phone, Felix worked the pump action of the shotgun once so that the person on the other end of phone line could hear the racking action. The shotgun discharged once fatally striking Eric in the face.
