Incident at 2100 Bentworth Drive

June 4, 2006 -- Charges have been filed against a suspect wanted in the death of a man at 2100 Bentworth Drive about 1:35 a.m. on Saturday (June 3).

The suspect, Tony Aaron Lem (w/m, DOB: 10-13-87), has been charged with murder in the 337th State District Court. He is still at-large and may be driving a dark blue or black Ford Taurus.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Binford and Officer T. W. Miller reported:

The victim, Michael L. Eager, 22, of 2150 Bentworth #496, was with several friends at a local restaurant when he and one of the friends got into a verbal argument. The friend became angry after Eager touched his girlfriend on her back. After the argument ended, everyone left and Eager returned home with his girlfriend and two other friends. One of the friends with the victim received several calls from the irate boyfriend who stated he was coming over to Eager's residence. A short time later, the suspect and irate boyfriend arrived at the location and the boyfriend became involved in a fistfight with Eager. The boyfriend then got into the suspect's vehicle and drove a short distance before the suspect turned the vehicle around and headed towards Eager. The suspect then swerved his vehicle toward Eager and hit him with his car. Eager was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died from the massive head trauma he sustained when hit by the vehicle.
