Incident at 8900 Sandpiper

June 11, 2006 -- The body of a 23-year-old man was found in the 8900 block of Sandpiper on Sunday, June 11, 2006 at about 1:30 a.m.

According to Houston Police Department Homicide Division Investigators T. Tyler and T. Miller, officers were called to the 8900 block of Sandpiper regarding reports of several gunshots heard in the area. The victim, Chris Washington of 720 N. Sam Houston Parkway East, was discovered with gunshot wounds to his body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Residents reported seeing a white car parked in the street around the same time as hearing the gunshots. At least two of those bullets struck a neighbor's house however no one inside was shot.
