The victim has been identified as Stephanie Garcia, two years old (tomorrow), of 2015 Vance. She suffered a skull fracture and trauma throughout her body.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants L. A. Flores, C. W. Howard and Officer T. Andrade reported:

Officers received a call to a failure to stop and render aid accident in the 7700 block of Jensen. Officers arrived and discovered the child was run over during the course of a robbery at 8310 Jensen Drive.

Investigators learned two suspects robbed Stephanie's parents at gunpoint and then yanked her, the parents and three siblings out of their Chevrolet Suburban. Investigators are looking for two suspects, both described as black males. One suspect is 25 to 28 years of age, 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 10 inches tall, and 160 to 170 pounds with a slim build. He had short black curly hair and was wearing a dark blue baseball cap, white T-shirt and blue pants. The other suspect is 24 to 25 years of age, 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 7 inches tall, and 140 to 150 pounds with a chubby build. He had short black hair and was wearing a red baseball cap, short-sleeved white Polo shirt pulled over another shirt, black baggy pants and white tennis shoes. The vehicle stolen, a 1993 white Chevrolet Suburban, was later recovered about 7 a.m. at 6100 Morrow.
