Incident at 5700 Rampart

June 24, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating the fatal stabbing of one man and the wounding of another at 5700 Rampart about 2:40 a.m. today (June 24).

The identity of the deceased victim is pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office. He sustained multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The wounded victim, who sustained a stab wound to the face, was transported to a local hospital in fair condition.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant L.A. Flores and Officer T.R. Cunningham reported:

According to witnesses, the victims were part of a small group of males involved in a physical confrontation in the parking lot of a local restaurant. The argument escalated and both victims were stabbed multiple times. Four unknown Hispanic male suspects fled on foot.
