Traffic Incident at 1400 North Loop East

March 4, 2006 -- Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 1400 North Loop East about 1:15 p.m. on Friday (March 3).

The identity of the victim and his cause of death are pending verification by the Harris County Medical Examiner's office.

HPD Mobility Incident Management Division Sergeant J.A. Ogden and Officer D.W. Ertons reported:

Witnesses observed the driver of a black Ford pickup truck driving erratically eastbound on the North Loop East service road. The vehicle struck the curb multiple times, finally coming to rest against a guardrail. Investigators believe the victim may have suffered a heart attack or some other medical emergency.
